Kisaragi

Kisaragi is a small bar tucked along Maneki-dori in Shinjuku's Golden Gai, listed on the official Golden Gai map and nestled among neighboring spots like SASUKE. The bar is run by owner Himeno, a native of Kumamoto, who serves Kumamoto's famed local sake Zuiyo and other select Kyushu spirits. Guests can enjoy unhurried conversation with the owner across a narrow counter—a hallmark of the intimate Golden Gai experience. During the day, the space is occasionally borrowed by a pop-up lunch kitchen called 'Shokudo D,' which offers dishes such as biryani, curry, and ochazuke. Whether you're a first-time visitor to Golden Gai or a seasoned regular, Kisaragi offers a calm, adult retreat away from the bustle of the night.
