A veteran bar on G1-dori established in 1967. The traditional Japanese exterior with lattice windows and wood cladding is striking; inside, a large sunken hearth (irori) defines the space. Rich sake selection with carefully prepared snacks. A rare place to feel the full weight of Golden Gai history.
Shinjuku Golden Gai is Tokyo's most iconic bar district — 295+ unique bars packed into six narrow alleys in Kabukicho, Shinjuku. A 5-minute walk from Shinjuku Station East Exit, next to Hanazono Shrine. Featured in the Michelin Green Guide, it has been a cultural institution since the 1950s.
