Pho

"Shinjuku Golden Gai PHO" (歌舞伎町1-1-5, Maneki-dori, 1F) was a rare Vietnamese pho specialty bar nestled among the drinking dens of Shinjuku Golden Gai. A red Vietnamese flag hung at its entrance, and inside, just three tables fit no more than five guests at a time — all served authentic pho crafted by a Vietnamese chef. The bar was established in a section of Golden Gai rebuilt after a fire, and its late-night hours made it a popular spot for a warming bowl of pho as a final course after a night of drinking. It earned a Tabelog rating of 3.76 and was listed in the official 2018 Golden Gai guidebook under the Maneki-dori section. However, the venue is likely closed or relocated, and visitors are strongly advised to confirm current operating status before visiting.
