Along Maneki-dori, one of the narrow alleys of Shinjuku Golden Gai near Hanazono Shrine, there is said to be a small bar called Himawari (Sunflower). With seating for only around five or six at the counter, it reportedly carries the warm, casual atmosphere that Golden Gai is known for. True to its name, the bar is said to have a somewhat bright and open feel compared to some of its neighbors. However, no official SNS account or recent reviews could be confirmed at this time, so we strongly recommend checking the current operating status before visiting. Golden Gai sees frequent closures and changes in ownership. If Himawari's light is on tonight, settle in at the counter and share a glass with whoever's next to you.
